If a badge has already been awarded, will it remain 'awarded' if it is included in a Course, or will the reader have to earn it again?

The badge will still be awarded, even if it appears in more than one document.

Make sure only the document you want associated with the badge is published, and unpublish any others. You’ll also need to apply the same security rule, so that readers log in with the same reader account.
