Version link
A 'Version Link' allows you to easily access a particular version of a document, such as the August edition of a monthly newsletter, whereas a 'Document Link' will open the most recently created and published version within a document.

Scenario
CitylifeBank create a monthly newsletter for their employees to ensure they stay up to date with all the latest news. They link to the 'Document Link' on their intranet, which will open the most recent version (for example, August 2024). However, Jack was on annual leave last month and missed the July edition. To ensure he doesn't miss out, he can be provided with the Version Link for the July 2024 newsletter.
Unpublished 'Oops!' message
If you have distributed a Version Link and need to make changes to the version, it will need to be unpublished.
When a version is unpublished, visitors will be unable to view it and will instead see the below message.
